01
The Preamp
A one-of-a-kind design whose saturation imparts size, warmth and sparkle. Load the input transformer and drive the amplifier stage to taste.
02
The EQ
Two bands of inductor-based equalization: sweepable highs with simultaneous boost and cut, and a low band built for big, tight bottom end.
03
ElektraComp
A vintage VCA compressor. Two knobs in Easy mode, every parameter and a visualizer when you switch it off.
04
Summing Bus
Console summing emulation with VU metering, output faders and back-panel access to every amplifier circuit in the channel.
Preamp & transformer settings
Behind the front panel: transformer loading and amplifier trim, so the saturation can be tailored to the source instead of accepted as a preset.
EQ editor and analyser
A real-time analyser over the two inductor bands. The vintage panel stays the way you work; the curve is there when you need to see it.
ElektraComp editor
Switch off Easy mode and the full VCA parameter set opens, with a gain-reduction display to guide attack, release and ratio.
“Been obsessed with the history and sound of the countless records done with Sound Techniques consoles, and having that in a plugin is a dream come true. It’s warm, punchy and big sounding with a huge round bottom and open top, but it also has a particularly special midrange that I’ve never heard on anything else.”

Built from the original console, not from a guess
The Sound Techniques A-Range* was the desk of choice at Trident and De Lane Lea, and the first British console ever installed in the United States, in Sunset Sound’s Studio 2. Fourteen were hand-built between 1965 and 1971.
Korneff Audio modeled the channel at component level in partnership with Sound Techniques — the preamp, the inductor EQ, the compressor and the summing bus, measured against the hardware rather than approximated from a schematic.
